Zedd is currently seeking to fill the following positions:
Architect - Intermediate to Senior
A significant opportunity for an OAA member architect is available for the right candidate in our growing, dynamic firm. This position has the potential for mentoring towards future partnership.
Zedd Architecture is based in London, the fast-growing centre of Southwestern Ontario, and has a strong focus in multi-unit residential architecture work while expanding into other sectors. We share communication openly with our staff who contribute to all phases of the projects while encouraging dialogue, initiative and continuing professional development.
We are seeking a skilled Intermediate to Senior level Architect who shares our passion for providing high quality design to benefit our clients and community. The successful candidate can expect to work on multiple projects with a variety of clients.
The ideal candidate will be a licensed architect that is well rounded in the profession, able to communicate clearly with creative ideas, and a passion for excellence; they are ready for the next challenge in their career with an opportunity for a leadership role in an established firm that recently celebrated it’s ten year anniversary.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Works as a team lead / member on projects from conception to completion under the principal in charge.
- Prepare and submit applications to authorities having jurisdiction for approvals.
- Manage the design and building permit / contract documents meeting milestones and deadlines.
- Oversee the coordination and implementation of consultants with the contract documents.
- Undertake responsibility for contract administration procedures both office and field functions.
- Maintain knowledge concerning construction contracts, practices, products, codes and technology.
- Undertake multiple projects simultaneously.
Qualifications
- OAA licensed architect.
- 6 - 10+ years relevant professional experience
- Revit expertise is mandatory with fluency in AutoCAD, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and SketchUp.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills are essential working directly with clients and consultants as a project architect.
- Advanced knowledge and interest in building systems, construction detailing, specifications and contract types.
- Familiarity and experience with the OBC and reference documents; NFPA, ULC, ASTM etc.
- Strong ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet scheduled deadlines in an orderly manner.
- Ability to work in small team and multi-task with a variety of clients.
- Familiarity with city approval process including urban design and zoning requirements, site plan approval and building permit processes.
Assets
- Experience with business development (sales, marketing, proposal writing)
- Familiarity with high performance building design and detailing (Passive House, Net Zero, Energy Star etc.)

Salary range $75,000 - $100,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
